Project:

Upgrade of the emergency lighting system using a sympathetic approach so as not to disturb these listed building’s original features. A design was produced for approval by Ansell Lighting utilising various colour variants which are harmonious and in-keeping with the original aesthetics of the building.

The existing central battery system was removed and replaced with electrical distribution equipment, enabling the reconfigured emergency lighting system to incorporate a design for maintained light fittings with local integral batteries. In addition, GM Monk’s in-house team designed a bespoke UPS system to re-supply the step marker lighting that is used for emergency escape in the main auditorium areas.

The project was delivered to Eastbourne Borough Council ready for the anticipated re-opening of the theatre.
