Summit Skills Electrical Installations Competition - Summer 08

Kris was one of 10 apprentices nominated within the Southern Region to take part in the Summit Skills Electrical Installations Competition at Highbury College, Portsmouth on the 22nd/23rd May. The competition consisted of a written and practical test over a 2 day period. Kris performed superbly over the 2 days, completing all the tasks. Finally, after a nervous 2 hour wait, Kris was announced the winner and will now represent the Southern Region at the National Awards to be held at the Interbuild Show at the NEC, Birmingham in October 2008. If Kris win the National competition he will progress to the World Skills Competition in Canada in 2009. Many thanks also go to Steve Allcorn from JTL and Jeff Hayes from Sussex Downs College who have help Kris to train for it and to all electricians that have mentored Kris while he’s been an apprentice. Well done Kris and good luck in October.

JTL Apprentice Award Evening - March 2007

The annual JTL Apprentice Award evening held at Wellshurst Golf Club on the 8th March saw two of our employees receive awards. Dan Skippings received 2nd place for Final Year Apprentice of the Year, while Tony Vine received  1st place for Second Year Apprentice of the Year. These awards are based across the whole of the Southern area and show hard work and commitment to the trade. We congratulate both Tony and Daniel for these awards and look forward to them developing their skills and knowledge with the company. Keith Skippings who attended the evening said  “ Well done to both of them, their are both an asset to the company”.
